Q: Now, it all sounds super-cool, but how does a Parade look like in reality?
A: As a typical parade, people gather at a point A in the city and start walking to the point B at an agreed time following the communicated route and blowing soap bubbles. Sounds simple, right? 🙂 Instead of typical parades, we are focusing on including and engaging as many people on the way by having fun, enjoying the moment and letting of all the problems. You can bring any props, signs, flags along with the mission of the parade to make the parade more colorful.

Q: What happens during the parade and how long does it last?
A: Usually Parade routes are around 25-30 minutes of walking, and they pass much faster than you think, when you blow bubbles to your left and to your right. If you wish to make the Parade more memorable for attendees, there are numerous opportunities to do that and we will be happy to discuss them with you! The most simple example is to inform local street bubble makers and other street artists about your route and invite them to Otherwise, typically hosts are spread out throughout the crowd refilling bubble liquids, making sure the parade is not too stretched out, introducing people to each other, and, of course, try to blow as many bubbles as possible!

Q: What happens after the parade?
A: Since the mission of the parade is to spread awareness that happiness is a journey, not a destination – the same goes for the Bubble Parade. You are most welcomed to organize a joint activity in the very end of the route, but please remember that the main focus of the event is to enjoy the journey together and to have as much fun as possible during the parade.

Q: How much time typically goes into being a Bubble Parade host?
A: On average, a host spends about 4 hours a week building their community, promoting the event, contacting potential sponsors and reaching out to local media. The number will fluctuate depending on the size of the event you are planning and the proximity of the event date.

Q: Is the Bubble Parade always free?
A: Yes.

Q: Can there be more than one Bubble Parade per city?
A: Instead of competing, we encourage you to form bigger teams with all people who would like to help out in bringing happiness to the city. Therefore, nope, we stick with one per city.

Q: What are some qualities you look for in a chapter host?
A: Here are four qualities:

— You just make things happen

— You’re good at giving away credit

— You’re obsessed with “happifying” your community

— You’re flexible with “glass-half-full” attitude

Q: Are there any costs/fees associated with running a Parade?
A: Since we encourage “Bring Your Own Bubbles” policy for all participants, organizing an event should be a cost-less activity for hosts. If the hosts would like to make an extra effort by buying prompts, providing extra bubble liquid or prompts – these costs could largely be covered via local partnerships / sponsorships.

Q: What sort of resources does GBP headquarters provide?
A: Each of our chapters receives a large batch of files (e.g. brand assets, slides templates, sample marketing materials), the online GBP handbook that details guidelines and learnings from our hosts, and access to our internal message board for all Bubble Parade hosts worldwide.
